Tourism stands among the most dynamic engines of economic growth across the Americas. Its contribution to economic growth and employment is substantial, while its broader impact extends to supporting local communities and, in many instances, the protection of natural assets. As a cross-cutting sector, tourism also channels investment and contributes to workforce development. When aligned with long-term public policy efforts, it can serve as a platform to accelerate regional integration, infrastructure improvement, and unlock innovation across value chains.
In recognition of this strategic potential, the ABD Tourism Task Force convenes leaders from the private sector to maximize tourism as an engine of growth for the region. The Task Force focuses on five core pillars: talent and workforce development; infrastructure and connectivity; the business and regulatory environment; access to finance, with a particular focus on SMEs; and sector-wide coordination and governance. Together, its members work to identify barriers, build cross-border policy recommendations, and shape investment-ready ecosystems tailored to the region’s diverse tourism landscapes.
The Tourism Task Force seeks to design a renewed vision for the sector and to identify financing strategies that strengthen a more competitive and better-connected tourism economy across the Americas.
