The Americas Business Dialogue (ABD) hereby presents this PRIVACY AND DATA PROCESSING POLICY to its Stakeholders in order to ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory obligations related to the protection and proper handling of personal information that it manages or may manage on behalf of third parties.
This Policy is mandatory for the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD), in its capacity as Data Controller, as well as when it acts as a Data Processor.
The Americas Business Dialogue (ABD) is the Data Controller for the personal data it requests and receives directly from the Data Subjects for the development of its activities.
Additionally, it acts as a Data Processor for professionals and service providers who register as Users on its platforms and who, in turn, due to the nature of their activities, are required to store both their own data and the personal data of the Data Subjects to whom they provide services.
This PRIVACY AND DATA PROCESSING POLICY also applies to third-party Data Processors who handle personal data on behalf of the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD).
In both its roles—as Data Controller and Data Processor—ABD has adopted the necessary measures to protect the personal information provided or collected from the Data Subjects within its Stakeholder Groups, ensuring that such information remains secure, confidential, and is used solely for the purposes informed and authorized by the Data Subjects.
Our PRIVACY AND DATA PROCESSING POLICY consists of guidelines that ensure the personal databases of our clients and service providers are handled in accordance with the provisions established by Law 1581 of October 17, 2012, and Decree 1377 of 2013. It also ensures the implementation of stable, secure, and effective mechanisms for managing information, while holding us accountable for the effective enforcement of principles of privacy and data protection.
By subscribing to the service, the user authorizes the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD) to process their personal data for the purpose of delivering the service and fulfilling the corresponding obligations related to its provision.
The Americas Business Dialogue (ABD) guarantees the confidentiality of personal data in accordance with Law 1581 of 2012. As such, all information will remain confidential during and after the conclusion of the activities that justified the processing of the data. Should the transfer of data be required, express authorization will be requested from the user. This authorization may be provided in a physical document, electronically, through data messages, websites, or in any other format that allows for future verification and consultation.
