As the world is confronting the reality of climate change, it is critical to take decisive actions and create innovative solutions that enable countries to rapidly electrify and decarbonize their economies while meeting increasing electricity demand and ensuring economic growth. Countries are beginning to create policy and regulatory environments that support a shift to low and zero emission systems, from energy to transportation or the heavy industry sectors.
The Energy and Natural Resources Working Group believes that countries in the Americas are uniquely positioned to leverage a great variety of renewable and low-carbon energy resources to achieve their decarbonization goals. Ensuring an enabling environment for capital and technology deployment by the private sector will play a key role in this effort.
